Product Teardown
Before you spend on a build, an objective assessment of whether your idea has legs: the problem, the market, competitors, key assumptions and what an MVP should test. You get a straight build, wait or rethink.
We give founders and early-stage product teams the judgment, product sense and expertise of a senior product leader, to help them unravel the hidden insights behind meaningful problems, build solutions that people love, launch with conviction and execution speed, and find product-market fit as quickly as possible.

A senior end-to-end review of a product or feature before real users see it, with a ranked list of what to fix first. Choose any of six areas, from positioning and pricing to onboarding.
Hands-on product work on one defined problem. We run the discovery, write the spec your engineers build from and plan the launch, working inside your team rather than advising from the side.
For founders making product calls on their own: office hours on your agenda, a recurring roadmap review, async input between sessions and a second opinion on product hires.
One decision to talk through, or a few hours of ad hoc help. No commitment.

I’m Ugo Ezeamuzie, and I run Avodah Labs. I’ve spent 13 years launching new product lines and growing them into businesses, across consumer products and enterprise software, as a founder, as a first product hire, and as the leader of a product group.
Built Bloveit from the ground up and took it through Techstars, making product calls from the founder’s chair.
Led the consumer products group from Series A to Series C.
Developed the Delivery as a Service platform from the ground up, including partnerships with Uber, DoorDash and Relay.
Leading the AI roadmap and building all of the company’s AI products.
Advising founders on product in the healthcare, dating, food tech and fintech spaces, to name a few.

FintechYes. The first call is free and lasts an hour. We’ll talk through what you’re working on and what you need, and work out together whether we’re a good fit.
No. Most teardowns happen before anything has been built. A pitch deck and a conversation about what you’re planning are enough to get started.
Then you’ve saved yourself the cost of building it. The recommendation also sets out what would need to be true for the idea to be worth revisiting.
Yes, I’m happy to sign one before you share anything confidential.
Every engagement is priced to its scope: some are a fixed fee, some are weekly or monthly, and hourly advisory is billed by the hour. The scope, the total and the payment schedule are always agreed in writing before any work starts, so there are no surprises. If you’re interested, please reach out. We’d be happy to send you our pricing sheet and engagement terms. Better yet, book a free one-hour call and we’ll do our best to steer you in the right direction, even if it’s not with us.
Yes. Our sessions happen over video, and the work in between happens in the tools your team already uses.
The retainer gives you 8 hours of advice a month, for the product calls you’re making yourself. The Consultancy is a defined project, where we do the product work ourselves inside your team rather than advising from the side.
Yes, if you want it to. A teardown can lead into a retainer, and a retainer can grow into a full project when there’s more work to do.
No deck needed. You leave with a recommendation.
